An ordinary farm boys’ life is changed forever when he finds a beautiful blue stone in a forest called the Spine. Taking it back to the house where he, his cousin and his uncle lives, he wonders how much it is worth. But when a band of dangerous and violent strangers come to his village, demanding and searching desperately for the stone, Eragon realises he has to leave.
